Baroness Vladka von Loudenstimme has had a long career on the opera stage but for how much longer is anyone's guess.She's still got the pipes but she likes to soak them in booze whenever she can - as in during every performance.So she hires the younger Southern belle Gwendoline Josephine Bellevolx Boulver,who fancies herself French and cultures , but who grew up in Boar Tush,La.,to sing for the audience so she can sprint off stage for a nip. One pianist names Paige Turner,18 costumes, a horned helmet,spear,light saberand a lotta puccini later, the diva duety becomes a duel. The aim is laughter ,That's the premise of Duelling Divas, a comedic entree into the world of Opera. Vladka von Loudenstimme is played by soprano Birgit Fioravante, soprano Wnedy Reynolds plays Gwendoline Josephine Bellevolx Bouvler and Heather Coltman plays pianist Paige Turner.

Kultur Festival 2010 is the only festival of its kind in South Florida. This second annual celebration of Jewish culture includes six days of concerts, presentations and lectures that feature a diverse selection of music, song, dance, film and book arts. The festival showcases FAU Libraries' special collections through the talents of guest artists, distinguished scholars and critically-acclaimed musicians, including Klezmer Company Orchestra (KCO), the library's professional ensemble-in-residence. Conductor and festival director Aaron Kula and KCO perform the festival's main event JudeoJazzistico in concert for the first time with the KlezKatz vocal ensemble. Kultur Festival takes place on FAU's Boca Raton campus at four venues. Kultur Festival 2010 has been made possible in part with support from the Jewish Cultural Society at FAU and the Nathan and Marion Crosby Holocaust and Judaic Library Collections Endowment Fund. Additional support provided by WXEL and the South Florida Association of Jewish Libraries. "
